Overcoming Challenges

 

Have you ever thought about the possibilities of your future?  And how you want to get there? Thinking about the future gives us a chance to decide what to do next with our lives. Studies even show that thinking about the future builds a happier life. So take a moment and think to yourself, "What should I be doing that I'm not doing?"

Start today and take action!  Why wait around?  What's stopping you?  Do you have a few fears and challenges in the way?  You have to face those eventually, but there are ways to overcome them.  Here are a few talks that I read that stood out to me and maybe you can apply them in your own life:  

“Don't you quit! You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon. Some come late, and some don't come till Heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come. It will be alright in the end. Trust God, and believe in good things to come.”

"Nephi always kept pushing ahead, he always kept moving forward. He never quit, and he kept doing the right things; and as he did, the Lord helped him every step of the way to accomplish great things....Don’t doubt yourself and what you can do.  You're going to have all kinds of people laugh and say 'you can’t do this' just like Nephi’s brothers. You can’t build a ship. Nephi knew he could and I know you can do whatever it is you set your mind to. With the Lord, you can do amazing things."

"I am asking you this morning not to give up “for ye are laying the foundation of a great work.” That “great work” is you—your life, your future, the very fulfillment of your dreams. That “great work” is what, with effort and patience and God’s help, you can become. When days are difficult or problems seem unending, I plead with you to stay in the harness and keep pulling. You are entitled to “eat the good of the land of Zion in these last days,” but it will require your heart and a willing mind. It will require that you stay at your post and keep trying."

So with that said, life is supposed to be hard.  At least I think so!  What do you think?  Hard experiences help us become stronger and we grow from them. But the best part of it all?  We're not alone! We're NEVER alone! God has always been by our side and he will never leave us.
